What do you have to do to knife somebody in this game! Last night I tried to knife two snipers (different) and they had time to swing around and kill me. O_o I took multiple swipes with my blade and they did not die! Both were crouched and I crouched up behind them. Tried to aim for the head but no workie :dunno:

Don't use left click to knife, use right click. Left click = 15 damage per slash, Right Click = 65 damage per slash.

I am pretty sure I used left click as I didn't even know you could use right. Thanks for the tip  I love humiliating those AWPers after penetrating the main line. That semi-auto shotty is the hawtness in close quarters battles  Hop like a bunny rabbit, pop pop, terrorist goes down.

I have heard that there are still quirks in Source. The headshot boxes are all fuXored up. Not just knifing but for alot of weapons. I haven't played, my computer won't run it. But I'm content with 1.6 I'm no crazy Counter-Strike player.

It's not as much as the hitboxes are crappy, it's the netcode. So says the l33t ones on the Steam forums at least. I don't see it as a problem as from what i've noticed only every 5 or 6 of my deaths end up as a headshot. Would you guys consider a 5:1 KDR as good? I find this game almost easy as it doesn't really reward the people who rush or breakaway from their respective team.

I have had a few people accuse me of hacking in the week I have been playing this game. One guy I kept owning because I could hear his footsteps (i use headphones exclusively). Fortunately I have gotten to know the admin on that server and he ended up kicking him because he wouldn't shut up. He just couldn't understand not using the walk button would make him stealthier and a shotgun blast to the head is almost always instadeath. :chuckles:

That is very good. Most people can't keep it up past about 20 kills though unless they're either really good and playing nubs or they have some other "advantage". One thing I've learned from playing 1.5 and 1.6 for about a year is that how well you play is mostly dependent on your connection to the server. Find a server where your shots register accurately and stay there. You can tweak your rates a little but some servers I just can't get a good connection to.

Oh yea I don't even waste my time on any server where my ping is over 100. See I am coming from BF1942. I don't know if anyone here has played it or not. Well anyways, the hitboxes on that game are sooo small, and you have to lead off by a mile if someone is running perpendicular to you. I guess that is why I am soo good at Source off the bat. I rarely use any sniper rifles at all. I join a fairly large server and wait until the major firefight has died down (especially on Dust, man that hallway is crazy!). Then I ready up my flashbang, cook it off, and run out and take out one or two guys. Then do the same with a smoke. After that there's usually only a few stragglers left to hunt down. I hate to sound cocky, but this game is easy. Compared to BF1942 that is. I like the distractions you can buy (smoke & flashbang). Easy kills when used correctly.
