Bang on their door and like they woke you up, be real nice about asking them to shut up. I had these stoners that lived in my building last year and their living room was right under my bedroom. At random wee morning hours in the middle of the week they would blast their music which would percolate up through my floor. I would just knock on their door and pretend I was half a sleep and be like, "um, could you turn that down, I'm tryin to sleep." Just real nonchalant about it, and well, they usually turned it down.

i don't like it when people have grudges against me, so i just called the 24 maintenance line and told them to call and let them know to keep it down. right after i got called, it was quiet for about 2 minutes, now its gotten louder. i know colelge students want to party, but its a ****ing tuesday night the week before finals, plus this isn't a college community, its a quiet family place. the people that live next to them have two girls in middle school. if it doesn't quiet down in ten minutes, i'm calling again.

 

They'll hold more of a grudge if you call the maintenance line on em.

If you ask nicely, and especially if they're dudes, they'll be less likely to hold a grudge.

 

but they don't say its me who called, and there's at least four apartments on this floor. sounds like they've quieted down now, lets hope it stays that way.

i'm shocked that anyone came over to party here. its too far for most people. thats why i moved here, peace and quiet.
