Never ever put all your cards on the table when negotiating. Don't tell them you are making 52k at the other place. Right upfront ask him for 55k and other things you need.
Also I agree with money doesn't mean happiness. I was QA/QC for 7 years making $35k not a whole lot of work just alot of testing and samples. I was miserable. I'm making considerably less now teaching TKD but I'm so much happier and enjoying life much better without stress.
