today i just got back and saw this thread and hey! what do you know - me and my moms was driving down the 46 exit of Interstate 17E, then 2 deers frozed right in front of me, as much as I've remember swerving out trying to dodge the deer. The CR-V got totaled over the right side. This is 250 miles away from my house, since i was driving my sister back to her college. Early in the morning around 1 AM stuck in the middle of no where with coolent leaking out of the radiator really sux. I had to pay the wrecker 575 dollars for bring me, my moms and the wrecked CR-V back to brooklyn.

Now i need a right fender, headlight, radiator support, radiator and other misc parts LOL. TY DEER made my week better then it accually was......

I have come close to hitting deer 2 times so far. First was on my permit, driving in Michigan.. they darted out in the road, and i stopped in time, thought i was gonna get rear ended.

Then, on my way back from michigan this past summer, I was driving straight through. Started at 11am in MI, i just hit the florida border, and about a mile or two up the road, im cruisin around 85(around 4 or 5am the next morning), and i see something on the shoulder. I didnt notice that is was a HUGE deer until i was about next to it. Thank got that little shit just stood there, cuz it wouldnt have been a little accident.

thats why i always have those deer whistle things whenever im driving anywhere where they might be roaming.

Default Hit Or Miss

Once I was driving on a 2-lane with my girlfriend. Coming around a slight right hand curve, suddenly 3 deer appeared, running in single file, from my right and clearly intent on crossing the road as if there was no traffic. :eek3:

I was too close to stop, and there were 3 of them. I noticed there was a 15 foot gap between the first deer and the second one, so I hit the gas and steered to just clear the rear of the first deer, and drove right between two of them without any contact.

My girlfriend screamed, because when I hit the gas she thought I was trying to hit them. Duh.

Before I hit the gas, I had been doing about 50. The car was an '84 Civic, nothing special, my second Honda.

Deers suck. My friend hit one in his 1994 Accord Coupe a few weeks ago and did $1700 in damage.
