I am amazed how well your digi cam does BW...I was thinking about picking up a BW SLR but i still love film more... and having a mini lab means it cheap to develop them so i think i might just stick with my film camera instead, I just dont know anymore

It is a higher initial investment but not prohibitive by any means. One of our shooters uses a DRebel and he has quite a few shots in the mag with it.

The images in this issue are the last of my Film shooting unless I get in the next issue for SupercrawlIII.

My avatar is intended to disturb

Well I wanted some portraits taken, and he's a bud, so I was like how much for how much?
He said something about processing equipment I think... The paper, the newest photocropping software. The way he put it seemed like it all adds up to a hell of a lot.

He just has no clue what hes doing.

Camera and assorted gear $2k (about what i have invested)
Computer I already have a ton of those
Printing can be handled by Kinkos or I can get a top quality printer for $600
Photoshop....does anyone pay for that anymore?

So at the worst its $2600 or so and at the cheapest its about $1,000 if you already have lenses for the brand camera you are getting etc.

well this is what we have so processing of film or staight from digi is really cheap, as both uses normal photo paper and pocessing... so around $0.08/pic

Ok.
I'll send him a link I guess. He seems to really love photography. He kind of lives job to job though.
Which might be why he was giving me high prices...
That son of a b!tch!
Just kidding.

Well photography is not cheap in general so his prices may reflect his quality, experience, and time. These are items that cost just as much as does printing and equipment.

He may be charging high prices because he is just that damn good. I know I bill out a bit higher than most average people want to pay, but I deliver what I deem good or I do not take any money...and I am an asshole about my images.
