Default Which one should I buy? (tube thing you watch cable on)

I am looking at getting a new TV for my living room soon and am looking at these. As of right now, I'm between the 34" Widescreen and the 36" Wega HDTV w/Home Theater System. I am not leaning towards the projection just because I was told they are high maintenance and you have to get them serviced constantly. True? Which would you get? :dunno:

Here is the 34" HDTV Wide.

-or-
Sony 46" HDTV Projection

-or-
Sony 36" Wega HDTV w/Sony 100x6 Watt Home Theater System (5disc DVD, 840watt peak)

Neither, get the 42" Plasma that's going to be on sales on Black friday for $1,499 and a good set of Onkyo's Speakers package at Fry's that's around ~$299 (on sale), a cheap 20-30 bucks DVD player (I have the Aspire Digital one and it's a lot better than my Panasonic and other name brands).

46" projection or one of the 50" LCD projection ones are HOT.

My friend has the 50" LCD one and her dad has the 60" XBR one.

you've never played super mario bros. until you've played it on a 60" XBR :chuckles:

the first one.
i heart those 34" Sony CRTs.
I wouldn't get projection because I just don't like the picture as much as CRTs...actually IMO CRTs have the best picture out of any TV. And 16:9 > 4:3.

I just got back from Circuit City and the projection is out of the picture. I don't like the reflections off the glass when looking at it from an angle. It looks like I'm sticking to the 34" Widescreen HDTV. The picture was crystal clear and it will be perfect for my new HD/DVR box that I'm getting soon.

I don't know how to post a picture but what about something like this http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Sony-...oductDetail.do

They weigh half as much as the tube TVs. I have a 32 inch XBR and it is extremely heavy. It takes two to three people just to lift it.

yeah, that 34" CRT is around 300lbs. But, it's not like you're gonna be carrying it around everywhere, you're just gonna move it the one time.

How do the rear projection LCDs compare to a CRT or a normal projection?
