Iz his safety gonna get tripled as well?
Honestly (people, dont kill me for saying this :happysad: ) I would go too. I desperately need money to go to school, and the two jobs I currently work aren't cutting it.
As far as safety goes, hell, I've been shot at before. How much worse can it be? Will he be allowed to carry a weapon?

If he's a contractor for the military he will have an armed escort when traveling.
And in case anyone forgot, the media is evil. They ONLY focus on the bad things, and they will NOT tell you about any of the good things going on ANYWHERE.
Somebody said it before, there are safe places in Iraq.
It IS a Sh!tty place, and I know I'm gonna hate it, again. But you gotta do what you gotta do.

I guy from my work went to iraq as a private security contractor... he says he gets paid around $120k for 2 months work... he just drove a van back and forth from the airport to the govt headquarters, loaded to the teeth.
My big brother has gone to Iraq to help out our family. He's paid off my car, paid off my bills. Bought a car for my mom and help pay some of her bills. I get to go back to college now that I don't have to work costantly and my mom doesn't have to work so hard and rely on me to take her to and from work. He is actually in a relatively safe area. Granted it is 30 minutes from Fallujah. But he knows what he is doing and that's why he went. He has to wear a flak and a kevlar all the time....I hope he gets back soon. I think he's gonna buy me some rims when he gets back. The most dangerous part your dad is going to be in is going to the base or wherever he is going to. He will be traveling in a convoy with marines, so he should be fine for the most part. It'll probably be under his contract that he cannot carry a gun, but from what my bro says, He could buy a chrome plated AK if he wanted. If he goes, I personally think he'll be okay. But that's me.
to be honest, I would go too... I'm doing a similar thing this summer, but on a smaller scale I guess... Working a commercial fishing boat in Alaska, you have a 1:34 chance of getting killed. On the oil rigs is something like 1:40... those are worse odds than working in Iraq, but the risk is less intimidating since its not another guy trying to shoot you, just work accidents.
