Go atleast an hour earlier than the scheduled reporting time. Given that its holiday season they will be extra paranoid.

like 4 hours. it really depends on the airport though. but i'd say 4 hours, better safe than sorry, and bring a book or buy a couple of magazines if you have plenty of time when you get into your gate (or if you're over 21, hit up the bar). thats what i do.

You have to be at the gate at least 20 minutes before departure time. Figure at least half an hour to wait in line to check in, another half an hour to make it through security, and 15 minutes to walk to your gate (the gates in Minneapolis aren't near security at all). So if you wanna cut it really close, show up an hour before departure time. To be safe figure about 2.5 hours. 4 hours is a bit excessive.

If at all possible, pack light and don't check your bags. You'll wait forever to pick it up at the baggage claim, and that's the worst kind of waiting because you already done got off the plane.

i've been through some nasty lines in security, but those were also at big airports (newark, atlanta). since 9-11, it takes a hell of a lot longer. plus its the holidays. but i'm one of those people who likes to know for sure i'm not going to have a problem, and i don't mind wasting time at an airport.

I recommend at least 2 hours. If you got yout tickets online it's a breeze. At least it was for me when I flew out of BWI (Baltimore-Washington Internation) to Kansas. You never know if you have to wait in line to the terminals (especially being Thanksgiving week), and then there are security checks that could take time. I watched as they randomly pulled people aside to do a search. One lady took about 20-30 minutes.
