I still stick with the belief that people with SUV's should go through a year long training course on how to drive responsibly.

so is a 15 bedroom house with a 10 car garage.
so is a $20k watch.
so is a $200 pair of jeans.
so is a $2000 turbo kit.
so is a $1000 titanium exhaust system.
so is a bunch of other shit in this world.

i agree there are a lot of dumb people driving SUV's on the road...but i bet almost all, if not all, of those drivers were put in smaller cars, they would still drive like shit. gas guzzler? who gives a f*ck. theyre paying for it, not you. not me. takes up space on the road? (so far) theyre still within the spaces of the lane. parking? park somewhere else. most of us wouldnt park next to a hooptie even if it was a small hooptie anyway.

SUV's arent everybody's thang...but neither is tiny lil 4 bangers....nor dirt bikes.... nor sport bikes.... nor sedans... nor coupes...nor most anything.

If I buy a 15 bedroom house with a 10 car garage, a $20k watch, a $200 pair of jeans, a $2000 turbo kit, a $1000 titanium exhaust, or a bunch of other shit in this world, I don't bother anyone else by doing so unless they take exception to me spending money on that type of stuff. If I buy a bigass SUV or truck I put yet another two-ton monster on the road which puts anyone else in a smaller car at a significant disadvantage in a collision. Not to mention that lower cars can't see over them, they're slow and clog up traffic, and they park where they're not supposed to. I for one would rather be run into by an idiot in a regular car than by an idiot in a bigass SUV or truck.

But whatever, we don't need to drag this out.

mrfatbooty I just hope you never get into an accident with your miata. cause if I were to drive any car on the road, yours would not be in my top 1000 choices.

Yup, my Miata is a rolling death trap and I know that full well. But that's my choice and it doesn't put anyone other than myself at risk, unless they decide to take the risk of getting in the car with me. On the other hand, strapping on a 3-ton battering ram every time I drove somewhere would put other people at risk.

Aside from any moral objection to them, I just think big SUVs drive like crap. It's like driving a school bus. If I needed to carry around the kids and wanted to do it luxuriously, both Honda and Toyota have pimped out versions of their minivans. Maybe I need awd for the snow? Toyota's got me covered. The only thing a pimped out minivan can't do better than a bigass SUV is tow.

Besides, while most people get the bigass SUV because they don't want to be seen in a minivan, I'd much rather have a pimped out minivan like the Odyssey Touring or Sienna XLE Limited and see people's reaction when they hop inside and see the pimpishness.

But hey whatever, I hold no real contempt in my heart for the people who make what I consider to be a dumb choice. That is of course until one of them runs into me while I'm minding my own business driving along in my death trap Miata.

So, you bought an SUV, probably aren't going to use it for offroading much, yet you're going to make it look like it's to use for offroading?

The only good big trucks offroad are field trucks, because you could give a shit what happens to them. h:
