The ones here are actually pretty clean. Cleaner than Walmart. Neither of the two are cleaner than Target.

 

we have one nice wal mart and one medium wal mart... the nice wal mart always has somebody asking if you need help, its really nice to have that .... the other one i dont think even has employees :dunno: never see 'em.... and k mart has such low traffic that it stays pretty clean....

 

Kmart was in bankruptcy protection for a while but has been out of it since May 2003. They closed a whole lot of stores and laid off a whole bunch of people and are now once again profitable.

Sears has a new concept called Sears Grand which is similar to a Super Wal-Mart or Target Greatland, and was originally going to buy some of Kmart's closed-down locations to open up more of em. Now with the merger Sears has access to all of those closed-down locations.

Also like Rick said, with a larger company comes lower prices because they buy in higher quantities.

not just quantity but also bargaining power due to market strength.

wal mart doesnt get lower prices only because they buy so much, much of it come because they hold such a high share in the market, they can decide how much they are willing to pay and leave anybody unwilling to agree far behind...

I should have been more specific, the one we have left here is dirty and old as hell. I loved Super K for the 4 or so years we had it, it was always clean. We used to go to the arcade they had at like 3 in the morning, good times.

 

Target Greatland is to Target as Super Wal-Mart is to Wal-Mart.

 

How is Kohls? We're getting one of those by us after being shown commercials for them for 3 years. h:
