How is the story line? Where does it take place? One reason why I liked HL1 was because it took place in the real world. I never really enjoyed all the aliens and crap.

B2KGSR's opinions have often proved to be the minority opinion...including this one.

You start off on a train entering a place called City 17. When you get there, there are all these weird soldiers around, and all the humans there are like prisoners, they really did a good job of creating that atmosphere. It looks like when they opened the portal in the last game, all those other creatures came across and took over, enslaving everybody.
It really is a badass game...I can't even remember the last time I got so into a game that I lost track of time.

Have you played Half-Life 2?
I've played all the games I've mentioned, and while GTA: SA is fun, it is totally owned by HL2.

And I just finished a somewhat lengthy level where I was driving a speedboat out of the city, being chased by a helicopter, and a bunch of soldiers shooting at me. I don't usually care for using vehicles in games, but this was so fun..you had to think fast and avoid bombs and use ramps to jump over obstacles to proceed.

and there's cool parts where you'll use the environment to kill enemies...like one time I turned a corner and there were a bunch of Combine soldiers on top of a rickety wooden bridge shooting at me...now I could've take them out with just my gun, but there were a couple of barrels marked "Flammable" at the base of the bridge.... :rick:

Damnit...I'm gonna play again right now.

I have no problem getting to their homepage, or getting my game authorized. Hell, I downloaded the game straight from their servers instead of getting a retail copy.
