Default new car technology?

Hey all,

I'm doing a presentation for my senior seminar class on any topic of my choice, that at least somewhat relates to computer science, my major.

I figured I could do a new car technology report, seeing as how lots of new car technology is based on computers.

Does anyone know of any big news in this area? or where i could read about stuff like this? Ive already found most of what howstuffworks.com has to offer, looking for other sites and google isnt giving me too much.

Please let me know of any ideas, thanks!!!

Lane change warning system - Honda has it implemented in some cars in Japan
Traffic sign recognition system - I believe a car in Australia is doing it
Automatic parallel parking system - I believe a company in Japan is doing it

One of the easiest would be sequential transmission, there is tons of coding involved and its an ever improving system. Ferrari recently did some revamping on their system for the 360 CS.

Automated driving (almost autopilot) - I believe they are doing testing in California

I forget which company had this gadget but it could detect black ice and ice patches

Rhys Millen's shop experimented with liquid metal that could go from solid to liquid in a nanosecond just by use a small electrical current. I think they thought about using it in shocks.
