trying to figure out what to do...
here's the thing: a month ago my friend asked me to come to her daughter's 4th bday party. i said OK, even though i'd be coming home two weeks later for thanksgiving. Now i'm not so sure its a good idea. I have two papers i have to work on, and this is one of the few times i have to work on it. i know i won't even touch it if i go home. just based on that, what do you think? should i go or stay here?

4th birthday party.... or better grades.... cake and screaming kids... or a better education...
I think the problem is not the decision of which to do... I think the problem is you choose to choose. I think you should put school before a birthday party without having to think about it.

well if I was in your shoes, I'd tell her that you are going but you cant stay long.
Even though you have papers to complete I'd still show up say happy birthday etc... and then go home and work on the paper.
It kinda sucks to tell someone yes and then at the last minute to change your mind and say no.
Im sure the paper was assigned to you in an adequate amount of time.
But, you sound like me I always wait till the last minute to do things.
