Default AIM virus removal

My brother has an AIM virus (I don't know the name which obviously makes it impossible to get rid of it). Uhm, any websites with lists and info on how to get rid of it? It won't allow me to open up things

I think so. I don't really know. I am not liking the Norton on his computer, I like McAfee better. Just easier to use.
