He did not resign, he was chased into a hole and thrown in a cell like the animal he is. In my opinion the palestinians had the right... don't forget that more palestinians died in this war the Israelis. the palestinians were left with a choice give up the sacred land(jerusalem) or suffer the consequences. Arafat did not give in to the threat of Israel and USA, that is why he has acquired the status of almost god to the Palestinians all over the world. And BTW if the tables were reversed, i mean if a group told the USA either accept our conditions or suffer the consequences i would expect(and hope) that the USA would do the exact same thing as Arafat and would not fold.
