Default muffler tips?

are the ebay mufflers really that bad? im juss worried about getting good sound as of right now not too worried about performance until i get a new engine.....i would be getting new custom piping...JW

muffler tips won't do anything for your sound and generally are just a big ole sign saying "i'm too cheap to buy even a whole muffler let alone an exhaust system!"

contradiction of terms, I know...but I meant something that is typically referred to as a performance part, ie: CAI, intake, exhaust, etc.

so basiclly a muffler from ebay with new piping wouldnt have a good tone to it?

oh well that's diffrent... get a name brand. Stay away from generic. Something that there's at least someone you can call if you have a problem. It's really something you miss having, once you don't have that company backing behind a product.

you can also compare how it might sound on someone elses car if it's a name brand. If it's generic... you have very very very very very slim chance of anyone near you ever having the exact same generic muffler so you can hear it.

Just go to Lowes and buy some sheet metal and build yourself a muffler.
