i used to hear it and i dont know if it works but i still do it

That numbing stuff that you spray in the back of your throat works pretty good.

Perhaps you should seek medical help? No, well gargling with salt water will soothe it, as will the topical anesthetics such as chloraseptic. Hopefully you do not have strep throat or anything.
