That's a tough one. The 360 is a little more drivable and will definately last more miles... F40 was pretty bleeding edge.

I've heard people putting a percentage of staight cut gears and tubi exhausts on their F40s and stating it was almost unliveable. I mean it would sound awesome, but for a car with no creature comforts that would be a bit extreme.

nope enzo wasn't even based on an F1 car

F50 was, so it's F50 that's closest thing to an F1 car.

I've decided that I don't want a Ferrari anymore and will stick to the German makes.

Namely Ferrari out Porsche in.

Which was going to be my plan anyways. Ferrari 360 for 1year then sell and buy 911 (insert letters and number here) to keep. I'm just forgoing the ferrari part.

Not based, but its got more of the technology than the other F cars.

That's why the 288 GTO is so cool. The F40 was the final stage of the 288 GTO Evoluzione program. The original 288 GTO had no ground effects, the Evoluzione program was the racing version with ground effects and more power (about 600 hp) that was to be part of the FIA Group B competition before it was cut short after a bunch of accidents.






The original street version is my fav F-car because it has the wacky crazy engine from the F40, albeit with not quite as much power, is reasonably sort of liveable, and only weighs 2500 lbs. Oh and there were less than 400 made. Good examples command about 300 grand at auction.

Without the 288 GTO, there would be no F40, F50, or Enzo.

The P car is for the men who can't afford the F car. Get a yellow 360 CS Rick, you know you want one so bad. Or the 430 which is what will replace the 360.

nope I can afford a 360 just as easily as the Porsche.

Correct me if I am wrong, the F50 only came with a 6 speed instead of the sequential shifters? I know the GT version had the sequential shifters. To me the F race cars represent the cutting edge sequential gearbox technology. The Enzo has possibly the second best road version software after the 360 CS or so I am told.
