ya its funky in ie
i only got it when i put a site in my favorites and ionly after refreshing the page a few times.
Then after a few days, they all disappeared.
its just a icon saved in the root of the site...

most sites have one
with ie, i used to save the ico to my comp and manually change the icon for my favorites... pretty :ghey:
