Default help fix up this image

http://www.clickwir.com/DSC01123.jpg

Just a pic I took... best one of the day that I took I think. But I can't seem to get it to look better in PS.

The branches are too dark, I'd like to add some brightness to just the left 3/4 of the image... but without mesing with the brightness on the right side. I can't find a good balance. :dunno:

Suggestions?

I think both are pretty good... I just don't think photoshop should be used to modify regular pictures, it devalues the photography. Only silly stuff and car stuff should be ps'ed.

Crop the right side out. That side is over exposed. If you want to mess with the brightness and contrast on only one side, do it:

Go into Quick Mask.
Select a VERY soft brush.
Brush the side that you want to change, it should turn red.
Get out of Quick Mask mode. (Everything but what you brush should be selected)
Go to SELECT - INVERSE (Now everything you brushed should be selected)
Go make your brightness changes.

By using a soft brush, the line between where the changes was made and where it wasnt made will not be so obvious.

Simple levels adjustment and crop to both images seems to help:dunno:
