i've got a boot sector virus, possibly, but norton won't pick it up

I ended up doing a memory dump a couple of years back when coding in assembly. I made a move to the wrong register in my code, needless to say they had to reformat the pc after I ran the program. That was not fun...

Yep... working at 4AM on a Air traffic simulator without enough caffeine will do that. I remember hitting enter and going :wtf: why is the program dumping the core memory contents. Good times... chugging coffee like it was water. Taking caffeine pills to stay awake and debugging code because you forgot to comment them when you wrote it.

i dunno if theres even one there, but when i reboot this thing pops up and says i got one, and i should download this antivirus software, i don't believe it, but still. fukkin mandrake :sad:

Fear psychosis... they make you think you have something by popping something that says you do. Run some form of an Adware program and get the latest definitions for your virus scanner.

i keep my av and adware stuff all up to date, and run regularly, i don't believe theres anything there but it's still a bit annoying, it makes my damn internal speaker buzz at me

It seems like a virus, mabe on your or some one you get regular emails from. I had the same problem.
