So I have the router plugged in...
And "set up" yet the notebook computer doesn't recognize that their is a network 
I have no idea what i'm doing

give more info. anything and everything you can think of type it out.

I set it up in internet explorer. It's a linksys router.

i figured it was only a matter of time 
wireless can be trick sometimes to connect to, specially if you were connected to a different wireless router or was connected via teh wire.
