Its the same idea as when looking at serial killers or murders. Generally it starts small with the injuring or killing of small things such as insects. Then it graduates to small animals...birds, cats, dogs, hamsters etc. Once the comfort in doing that and the thrill wears off they graduate to larger things and more impacting things to get the same feel and rush from it in order to sate their need and satisfy the urge.

Look it up in your psychology books sometime its considered a form of sociopathic behaviour.
that stated, i beleive it, but it does not, and should not apply to everyone for every instance in the said research. More or less, if i feel it getting out of hand, or i feel myself not feeling the 'release', which may very well happen (much like the effects of drugs, where incresed dosages are required each time) then i'll stop. But with my depresion and other problems, i rather like where i am at now, and with my moods changing, so does what i do to feel better change.

Ever take drugs or drink to where it becomes or became a problem?

Personal example:

I went to a party and did some speed. Didn't like it much but I liked that I could party all night and into the next day without getting tired or drunk. After that party I didn't touch the stuff again, so I reasoned that since I didn't do it all the time it was ok as a party drug.

So next party it was there so I do it again...kinda like it at this point so I do a little more than last time and again party all night into the next day and feel its ok because I don't do it all the time.

One day I decide it would be fun to do with some friends just hanging out....then I do it because I am tired and have to go to work....then I do it just because its there...then I do it because I am hooked and can't function without it.

All this time people notice changes in me and that i am losing weight, not as happy as I once was, dirty and unwashed at times, spacey at times...and the list goes on.

Same principal applies...everyone says they can control it until its too late and by then it takes something serious to make them aware of the problem and the changes occuring.

I respect that you gave me an example of what happened in your own life, and i understand now that the same might very well happen to me, but i also completely understand that it might not.

Are you really laughing you ass off? Or did you just need a smilely to post at the end of you pointless, abnoxious statement, that had no relevant point to this thread. If your confused at me wanting to be treated as an adult, then pm with your concerns, but dont flaunt them in front of your peirs over the internet for some oersonal benifet...if that even is why you posted that in the first place.

I will not treat you like an adult because you aren't one. Maybe you should act like an adult if you want to be treated like one. I was 17 once and I was exactly like you, nose high in the air thinking I knew all about the world. You are just a kid wanting to be all high and mighty, sadly we can see through the facade and will treat you just like another 17 year old.

Oh and for the love of God please use some semblence of decent English and spellings.
