bike mods....
well, i bought a slip-on muffler for the bike. Akropovic carbon fiber. retail is $629, but i bought it on ebay (same seller i got all the parts to fix it after the wreck) for $449
we weighed it & the stock can & there is almost 4lbs difference
it really has a nice purr to it now :frisky:
before w/ the huge-ass can:

after (pic sucks....will take better tomorrow)

i also lowered the rear a few weeks ago cause i couldn't flat-foot both feet @ one time & have had a few close calls of dropping it when trying to move it in slippery situations.
i bought a "dog-bone" for it & my buddy put it on for me monday. it was a 1 1/4" drop, but it actually lowered it 1 1/2" & i had to have 1 3/4" cut outta the kick-stand. we only moved the front forks 1/2" up in the triple-clamp.
after lowering it, we went thru the whole suspension setup & got the sag, rebound & what-not all set for me & it ****ing handles GREAT now.
now i can get both feet on the ground w/ my knees bent!!!
i can also now stand up off the seat for those nice power-induced burnouts :rick:
another benefit is w/ the ass not sticking up, i feel like i'm sitting IN the bike & not ON it. there is alot less pressure on my wrists, so it is alot more comfortable to ride for long periods. i reach out to the bars & not down to them.
also, w/ it lowered, it is much less prone to wheelie. disadvantage for some, but i prefer to keep both wheels on the ground. don't get me wrong, i can still get it up if i want, but now when i power away or open it up coming out of a curve hard, it just bites & goes!!!!
now i just gotta watch those foot pegs.....dragged one last nite taking a curve at a good clip w/ tanya on the back
here are some pics. first two i took last year right after i bought it:

taken at hooters when alley came to nashville a few months ago. notice the angle of the rear section:

these were taken yesterday mornig when i got to work.....dawn light & my digital camera don't mix
anyway, notice the angle otf the rear tail section now.....muck flatter
