Default computAr crew: my fan is louder than usual

This is happening more often now. I checked inside, and it doesn't seem to be hitting anything. It's just louder. I just hit it for a temporary fix. Should I get a new fan or what?

I'd get a new one. You can try to take it appart and clean it... but it's usually more work than it's worth.

Or yours is probably too dusty.

Just get a new one.

Pretty cheap, that is unless you have a Dell

If you tap it and it quiets down, the bearings are shot. Eventually it will freeze up. Definitely get a new one.

That's what happened to mine last month. I would tap it and it would be fine for a few minutes and it would come back. Fan was like $10.
