Ace Combat 5 is on the way, and I can hardly wait. 
The last title I bought was Midway Arcade Classics Vol 1.
Very fun to relive the days of old.h:
I still think True Crime: Streets of LA is a good choice.
I'll still throw in GT3, Ace Combat 04, Hitman 2.
Then there are the arcade racers, NFS:U, Auto modellista, etc.

Katamari Damacy was one of the best $20 (new!) purchases I've ever made for my PS2. I also recommend Viewtiful Joe, SOCOM II, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, and I think Ace Combat 5 is coming out soon. I'm looking forward to that.

hfawk: The problem is that the graphics engine port was done VERY badly. Like... total hack job in the world of cross platform ports. It should have been well within the capabilities of the PS2, and I think the game would have sold a lot better if they put more polish into the single most prevalent current gen system available worldwide h:
