Default Fuse replacement question

i have a blown 7.5 amp fuse but i don't have any spare 7.5's. i know you're knot supposed to use higher amp fuses but will it really do anything if i use a 10amp fuse for now? or should i just wait and get some more 7.5amp fuses

Use a 10 for the time being, but replace it as soon as you can.

If a fuse larger than the specified fuse is used, a small mistake when installing the equipment may cause catastrophic failure of the equipment. WHEN, not if, WHEN you're thinking of replacing a blown fuse with a higher rated fuse ask yourself if you know more than the engineer who designed the equipment. Don't get in a hurry when installing electronic equipment. Take the time to go get the right fuse. 50 cents for a fuse is better than $50 labor plus the cost of the replacement parts for a repair job.

Because we are noobs, and its a law that noobs have to post in incorrect forums. You should know this by now

When you replace a blow fuse with a higher rated fuse, you not only run the risk of damaging your equipment, but also the risk of an electrical fire.

anyways i replaced the fuse with a 7.5 from the heater/AC and that one blew too in the alternator/sp heater....must be a short circuit or something. i'll have to go buy new fuses.

Umm, I wouldn't keep buying fuses... if you are blowing fuses that means something is wrong, either look at it, or if you aren't inclined enough to know whats going on, have someone else take a look and see what the problem is.
