My mom has one, it works really well.

The rug in the main living room was sent out to be cleaned professionally about 6 months ago, came back looking great. Over the next 4 months she used the old vaccum on it 3-5 times a week. Roughly.

When she first got the Dyson, she vaccumed with the old vaccum first, looked clean. Then vaccumed with the dyson, the dyson canister was a quarter of stuff the old vaccum didn't get.

She emptied the canister and vaccumed again and got about 1/8th full more.

There are several carpets that have fringes on the ends, the Dyson has a clutch system that stops the beater bar thing so it doesn't mess up the frindge. Old vaccum would rip the little tastle things off, Dyson doesn't.

oh and it's never clogged yet and she has a short hair dog living there too.

She got the one that is like purple and red... ugly summabeesh but it works really really well.

my mother also has one, 'tis the shiznit. loud as hell (but you know, its a vaccuum). it'll suck the hair off your balls though :chuckles:

no really, its fabulous, and totally worth every penny you pay for it. buy it from christopher, and you want get taxed and i think he gives free shipping too, don't you chris?

oh and we have the yellow one h:

oh and my mom did the fun trick with revaccuuming the room. with the old vaccuum (which wasn't a cheap one) she went over like a gajillion times, then when the dyson went through it got a ton of fine dust that would have been missed.

My mom said it looked to scary to buy. So we ended up with a hoover :wtc: Although it works really well. Only the stupid thing is...you can't turn the beat bar off--ever. It makes it useless on hard floors (and especially hard wood--forget it, eep).
