on the letter sent they spelled my namd and street incorrectly

Send the SOB back in not guilty and fight it regardless. I doubt they'll drop it for a misspelling but ever single time I've fought a ticket I've either had it reduced or dropped so it's worth a try. The only thing you can possibly lose is time.
