Default question

JDM SiRI B16a
Does VTEC engage in neutral?
Does the fuel cut off kick in earlier in neutral?
Or is it the goddamn spool solenoid valve self diagnostic code?
I'm going to drive it for the first time tommorow, but could a bad MAP sensor actuating a safe mode?
It's always something stupid.

Check your Haynes manual or your Chiltons manual.

it doesn't say anything about changing the way it runs sue to a code, just what it means and how to troubleshoot.

A map sensor code could be a bad map sensor, or bad wiring. It should cause it to run in limp mode, so you won't get vtec.

thanks
I know my MAP sensor is bad, this spool solenoid problem isn't good either though.
I'm going to take it apart and make sure it's in good shape and hope it works.
My wiring is good on the sensor because I checked the connection between the plug and the negative battery terminal and it was good.
