Interesting/crappy autox
Went to the Southern WV one in Riverside.
Crappy - FTD was a 1:06:xxx and my fastest was a 1:23:755. Mini in my class ran a 1:10:xxx. (There were only 2 cars in HS.) Its mostly bad driving because I couldn't sleep a wink last night. The loss of Pete, our dog, is still bugging the hell out of me. I left at 4:45AM hoping the 2.5 hr drive would help me. Nope, drove like crap and missed all my marks expect my last run. Did improve from a 1:29:xxx from my first run to the 1:23:755 on my last.
Interesting - we got a friendly visit from the sheriff, friendly is used in pure sarcasm. He pulled into the staging area just as a car was getting out of the track. I yelled at the sheriff to move because an accident was imminent, he didn't so the car was redflagged and slammed on its brakes. Appears Mr. Sheriff heard the tires squealing and the cars and decided to come and make sure it was a legal event. They have been running at the same venue for 2+ years and its not like its a massive town. He wanted to see the insurance paperwork, just so happened to be the day they forgot to bring it. He let us carry on, but they guys have to show him the paper work.

What the heck? It just goes to show that cops do have an authority complex to do something like that. The more diplomatic way would have been to park his cruiser and walk up to the event tent or truck and ask politely.
Well we had our autocross with the Bel Air Corvette Club at the GM plant in Baltimore. SUPER TIGHT COURSE! I didn't think my car would make it through some of the gates. The 1st heat only 3 runs made it through this one course without hitting the cones THREE RUNS (not 3 cars) out of like 45 runs. Bunch of us were complaining about that corner, would have been more fun if they moved just one cone 1 foot out.
Anyway I took FTD in the morning
Beating the next fastest corvette by about 1-2 seconds
My friend took FTD in the afternoon by about 1/2 second over me
