Default Timing belt change

can I just mark the cam pulleys and crank and put the new one on the same as the old one or do I have to figure out how to get it to TDC?

Yes you can. I did the exact same thing when I changed mine and used a white out pen to mark the belt and gears/pulley.

I would personally set everything to TDC. You might have to finagle the cam gears a little bit to get the belt over. Getting it to TDC is easy. Line the white mark on the crank pulley with the line on the block. Also, the cam gears have small dash arrows on the edge of the gear that will point at each other at TDC.
