We have the soreno's and norteno's, there are very few Crips and Bloods in the area - but they're around. The Soreno's are by far the largest gang in California, and as such, they are the largest in my area as well.

Asian gangs are growing significantly in my area as well, and oddly enough; they're the bloodiest.

There aren't too many, but you still have Hells Angels which are mainly White. The Hells Angels have toned it down quite a bit as far as crime they commit, they tend to stick to Drugs nowadays rather than violence like in the past.

In Glendale, I believe, there's still a fairly large "underground" White Supremacy movement, and in all of the Prison Systems in California there is a good amount of White Gangs, such as the Nazi LowRiders and other Aryan Brother decendants.

The largest "Prison Gang" is the "Mexican Mafia" - which spawned the Soreno's who operate outside of the prison. (Where as the Mexican Mafia works inside the Prison)

 

Nortenos have been making news around here lately.


I don't see a lot of Asian gang activity. It was pretty heavy when I was in my middle school days. But most of the Asian gangs around here are the noobies trying to fit in and get situated. The OGs are telling them to GTFO, and most arent listening. A lot of the youth gangs around here are Khmer or Mien crips. All the Chinese and Viet gangs seem to be really underground.

 

You mean skinheads? The OC was once called Skinhead County, but I think it died down a bit.

 

It used to be that the Asian gangs were more concerned with running underground operations to make money, rather than actually fight and cause bloodshed, at least here in my area.

That's started to change though, partly because they've been trying to move into the Eastern portion of Santa Rosa which is widely regarded as Soreno "land" and naturally the two gangs aren't too pleased with one another taking from eachothers business.

 

There is a Hell's Angel Chapter about 4 miles from my house. I have rolled by there a couple time. They just seem to be hairy white guys enjoying beers. I never thought of them as violent gang members.

 

There's a reason that Santee is called "Clantee."

 

I think that still holds true. I lot of the Asian gangs (chinese / viet) are more into...dammit cant find the term...you know, punking business owners for money.

And IIRC, Castro Valley use to be the KKK capital of Cali. :thinking:

 

Glendale used to have *tons* of KKK and Aryan Brother type gangs. I think it used to be the West Coast headquarters for the KKK or something crazy like that.
