print head is built into the ink cartridge so there is no need to clean it. brand new cartridge should have a brand new print head.
any how as stated before you need to align the new print head.
go to HPs website and download the manual for the printer. there is usually a way to align it just by using the printer controls.

you can also align the head when you go into the program.
depending on where it is...go to either
file or edit
printer preferences
align heads
