Ok guys im in a jam and need some good suggestions. Im currently making 11.75/hourly as a computer operator. Its a full time 7:30-3:30pm job. It's not a contract but with a good company. I just received an offer from another company in a email. This is what it states:


Dear Michael,

I am looking for a candidate to fill the following position. If you are interested, please give me a call as soon as possible.

Desktop Support / Helpdesk / IT Administrative Position

Location: King of Prussia, PA (25+ year old, strong local company, with growth plans over the next several years)

Environment: Local manufacturing / distribution company with 55 PC’s, 5 laptops, 1 Windows 2000 Server and 2 IBM RS6000’s. Several remote locations around the US you will also be supporting. Very team oriented IT group of 3 individuals.

Pay Rate / Salary: $30 to $35K

Type of Engagement: 30 Day contract at a commensurate hourly rate. Conversion to full-time employee after 30 day evaluation period

Work Hours: 9 AM to 5 PM

Job Description: Small and closely knit IT group looking for a person to accept a Jr. role as a Desktop Support/Helpdesk/IT Administrator. Duties to include managing IT assets and entering asset data into the asset database, handling a helpdesk that generates 10 to 20 calls daily (general computer and Microsoft Office questions), researching and developing solutions for the users, writing process documents to support those solutions (development of a knowledge base), hardware (pc and printer) and software installs and trouble-shooting, researching and resolving networking issues, and developing expertise with the various applications needed to support the business (label printing software and customer relationship software). Also there may be opportunities to so some development work (programming).

Required Skills:

· Aggressive Learner and Team Player

· Detail oriented and good documentation skills
· Able to multi-task
· Motivated Self-starter
· Professional demeanor / great customer service skills
· Intuitive skills for problem solving
· Solid understanding of Microsoft OS’ and MS Office applications

This is a busy yet low stress environment, a good place to wear multiple hats and with future growth in responsibility for the right person. Any exposure to multi-platform environments, applications, or programming skills are a plus but not necessary.



Now that job sounds real good :yumyum:. It would really help out with alot of my problems that im having. The only thing is that i dont wanna get there and it turns out to be another contract scam where im there for 30 days and then after the 30 days they get rid of me due to the fact that they only wanted me there just to help out with a load and threw the 30days to hire just to get people to come in. So im a little nervous on what i should do.

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated guys.

ugh wqorking for 3 chicks. we deal with this one company who is all chicks., we told them to fly a kite cause they didnt know anything and were so undecisive. :hehe:

Yea but the call volume is EXTREMELY low for some reason.
