in terms of pic quality it goes LCD, DLP, then Plasma........my friend is a supervisor at a local best buy and she says that they have the most returns on plasmas because I guess they wear out faster........I'd say DLP is where its at, about half the price of plasma and about 3/4 of the picture quality. In terms of HDTV or EDTV.........I dunno........

HDTV has better resolution than EDTV.

EDTV isn't HDTV, it's close but not that close. If you really want a HDTV get an HDTV and a DLP projector or LCD projector. They are cheaper than well plasma.

HDTV is a complete waste of money right now. Do yourself a favor and get a really nice standard definition television and a line doubler if you're dying for a better picture. HDTV will hopefully be sorted out in the next couple of years, but right now its a joke.

Where's your line of reasoning for that? I think HDTV is awesome...great picture and sound.

There are a handful of competing HDTV standards right now including 720p and 1080i. Not all of them are supported in every market, and there really isn't a lot of programming available in any HDTV format. Furthermore, even DVDs are only 480i, which sucks ass. A line doubler will make broadcast television and DVD playback look better, but HDTV just isn't mature right now.

And since I'm ranting, let me say this - interlaced video sucks my balls. Progressive rocks.

Get Voom with over 40 channels in HD. And also check out the new progressive scan DVD players that convert the signal to 1080i like the Bravo II
