this kid finally gave me a ride. it was 30 seconds long. but worth it. hes got a WRX and ive never ridden in 1. and hes got forged BOV. turboXS exhuast (3 inch) and a 4 inch downpipe. his car sounds beautiful. but isnt 4 inch a little "too" big?

the size of the downpipe on a turbocharged car makes little difference beyond a certain point...

4" downpipe to a 3" exhaust sounds fine, especially if he plans on upgrading the turbo. I have plenty of friends running that setup.
