weeks, months.... time
Here in america... we have days, weeks, months etc.
24 hours in a day.
7 days in a week
roughly 30 days in a month.
12 months in a year.
I can't help but wonder if other countries uses this same method of measurement. Anyone know of other countries that use something diffrent and what they use?

actually, our calender was developed around 900AD by some priest named Gregory - hence Gregorian calender.
different religions have different months. but in the secular world, we all use the Gregorian calender.

So the Pope cancelled a few weeks and instituted the leap-year to keep things correct.

the egyptians had a close one based on the star sirius, but it would go out of whack, but instead of fixing it, they figured out it would take 1,460 years to correct itself, and they just let it go.
Different religions and countries use different forms of months and years, but the bottom line is our second, minute, hour, day, week, month and year, is all designed around our planets rotation and orbit around the Sun.
The reason it gets "off" is because it doesn't take us quite 24 hours to rotate...

I guess what I more getting at is if some other country has like 8 day weeks or 4 day weeks or weeks at all.
Sure there's (about) 24 hours in a day... but do some places measure it in something else and come up with like 30 units in a day or something.
Or does everyone use the same calendar?
