Default Winter approaching are you preppared - tire thread.

There's a group buy on Nokian Tires. For those people who get snow especially in the northeast these tires are probably the best you can buy and a little cheaper than Blizzaks and Artic Alpins.

Back in November or December of 2003 I purchased Nokian Hakkapelitta 2s for my OEM Si wheels. And I'm glad I did when we got that huge blizzard in January. I did not get stuck once the whole season and actually been using them for everyday tires too. I also used them for a couple snowcross events up near Reading.

The Hakkapeliitta 2s are studdable, which I'm considering also. But there are also other Nokian tires available for any car. The Hakka 2s are supposed to be the king of snow tires, and Nokian (in Scandanavia) does all their testing on a snow/ice covered track to make sure the tires perform.

I know people who went from Blizzaks or Artic Alpins to Hakkapeliitta tires and the difference was amazing. My tires are very quiet compared to my Azenis.

Here's the link to the group buy:

I'll take my chances with my Yokohama Avid T4s. They suck in the rain so I'm sure they will suck it up in the snow.
