Wider tires will float ontop of the snow where these is no grip. You want the thinnest tires that will go on your car. I know guys who use 185/65x14" tires on their Civics. Some going as far as 175/75x13".

The price was for a 185/65/14 by the way. I've found that the skinner the tire, the better it handles snow. My 205/50/15's don't do so well.

Tempting but I still have probably at least another year on my blizzaks left before they need replaced. Man, don't remind me that I'm going to have to switch over to snow tires soon, that's just depressing.
