500 bones is a lot to drop on a digital camera, and there are way too many different sizes, shapes, and specs which occupy the same price point. What do you intend to use it for, and what features are you looking for?

I just want something that takes good pictures and doesn't take a rocket scientist to do so. Benjamin, I do appreciate your link, but I planned on asking here first to get a feel on things then go from there so GTFO. $500 for a digicam is nothing for me :deek:

with that attitude, you wont get much help from the true hardcore photographers.
