Default electoral college:yay or nay?

i dont know what do you guys think. i feel as if the electoral vote has taken the power out of the individuals hand and put it more towards how a certain society feels as a whole. it kinda contradicts the statement "power by the people, for the people". what do you guys think?

there too many individuals in our nation. There would be anarchy if we weren't as governed as we are. But I have to say Yay. Each vote still counts toward the electoral vote. And by the way Bush is GOING to win.

If I'm correct, isn't the electoral vote determined by the popular vote? As an individual, you still have the ability to affect the outcome.

i wouldn't say that with such a close election. even if we were switched places i wouldn't be so cocky.

i'm pretty sure it was created to account for people who couldn't vote (blacks, women, etc). we've just kept it in place since then for whatever reason.
