Default water temp question(since civ forum is dead in the water)

Well, installed a water temp gauge VIA upper hose splice sending unit adapter.

Now it is refusing to open up thermostat and flow fluid.. so I hooked up my cluster ( was out of dash because I was running wire back there) and after idling for abit it says the engine is pretty hot...

Bad thermo? The lines are still cold when its saying its hot.

probably bad thermostat. test it, pull it out and put it in a pot of water on the stove. use a thermometer and see at what temp it opens.

They're like $14 at a parts store, just replace the thing.

What he said, but you might want to check it first, to make sure that is what the problem is, I hate running back and force to the store
