Wow, I don't know who these people are but I definitely thought they were very close, with Bush being a tad bit...more knowledgable.

Of course this is a CBS poll

Kerry filled up his time well because he just paraphrased everything he said at the beginning of his answers/rebuttles. Bush did this at one point or another two. Kerry did it more. I'm at school, but I'll get a transcript of the debate, and point it out. If I can't, then...maybe I'm biased and don't want to accept it. :dunno:

I don't really care if you think they're biased or not, this is a thread about poll results. Hence, people are posting poll results. There's an ABC poll if you want to have something more "objective" in your eyes.

Wait, you actually believe CBS's poll couldn't be swayed at all? Wow, I guess 50% of people really are sheep. Ever read "The Lottery." Thank goodness I don't live in your town.

For swing voters that may not be as heavily intune with the election and issues as many partisans are I think Kerry came off better being the more articulate of the two. In that sense he won the debate. However I thought Bush had more substance and Kerry contradicted himself and/or misspoke quite a bit. Claiming he never called Bush a liar...he did twice, claiming the subways were shut down in NYC during the RNC...they weren't. But Bush did not capitalize on the biggest mistake Kerry made of the night. Kerry made his point clear during the debate that Saddam was not a threat stating he was contained and 65% of Iraq was under no-fly zones. But then in his closing statement he said Saddam was a threat. Had Bush capitalized on that at the beginning of his closing statement that might have put the final nail in Kerry's coffin and I would expect the polls to be growing. Instead I think they will shrink making the race tighter. In that sense Kerry won the debate.

I haven't made any comment on what I think about CBS one way or the other, because that's not what the thread is about. I don't care what your opinion on the matter is either. That's because this thread is about the results, and nothing more. A total of three polls (CBS, ABC, not sure on the third one) show similar results. I guess now they're all biased too. Calling the credibility of the pollster into question is a sure sign of someone who doesn't like the result.

Debates suck balls. They should put the two of them in a UFC octagon and let them fight. Now I bet more people would watch a UFC type debate. :chuckles:

We can't have a wuss for a president now can we.
