i heard a funny benefit to an arranged marriage...dunno if it's true or not but apparently, if you guys get in a fight...you can blame your/their parents to fix it....they set you two up....

arranged marriages are all too common in the hmong culture. hell when i was still in hs it seemed like every new hmong girl that came to our school was married and prolly 1 out of 4 of those were arranged. tough luck for the rest of us cause most of them were hot. :rick:

my marriage wont b arranged, my parents were slightly arranged...my grandfathers were friends and my grandpa (moms dad) wanted my mom to marry my dad...
i dont think its a bad idea, u dont have to go through heart aches, heart breaks, and $ drains. Since it is arranged, you come into the relationship w/no expectations and no high standards. You learn to love and grow w/the person. Everything is forced to be worked out. There's no such thing as "you were different before we were married" "if i knew u were like this i wouldnt have married you"...blah blah blah...
So i dont think it's a bad idea..besides, some of you guys probably wouldnt mind being arranged into a marriage rite now, since you are gf-less.
and the whole 30K thing....it's not a real marriage so u dont get to keep the girl...if u keep the girl..u dont get the 30K...and you probably couldnt understand a word she is saying and she's probably barely 18....and there's the risk of getting in trouble w/the law since it's not a real marriage...i believe u must stay together for 5 years.

I would go with a arranged marriage... It usually work out pretty well, and I would meet the girl, see if i like her, same for her... if it clicks then its agreed, if not then stop the whole thing! It what we could call a seam arranged marriage, I could find a nice Indian chick too (hard to find here!).

Nope no arranged marriage for me. They don't do that in my culture.
Someone pointed out that divorce rate is low for arranged marriages. I would think one of the main reasons it is low is that if the couple is so traditional that they would have an arranged marriage, they would be just as traditional and not believe in divorces :dunno:

arranged marriages actually last longer then ones where people meet on their own. i hear the same thing of getting paid by the family to bring them over seas to the usa. the girls are hot soemtimes and whats so wrong with it? if my dad was trying to hook me up with a hot women from germany who would be loyal and loving, why not?
