1. Whats the difference between cat-5 and cat-6 cables?

2. Should I buy 200gb 7200rpm Maxtor External HD for 179.99?

CAT6 is faster than CAT5, but if the router is near anyway, CAT5 will do. I bought CAT6 because they ran out of CAT5, then my pops wned: me

Yeah an external HD will come in handy.

Catergory 5 is the standard for making a network between computers. Catergory 6 is able to handle higher speeds such as gigabit networks, aka OVERKILL.

I prefer Western Digital and unless you are going to transport it make it an internal. Other than that it's a decent price.

i have a laptop with 40 gigs, going to school in a week and i need more space. Should i go with WD 120 gb 7200rpm 129.99-$30rebate instead?

externals are a great choice for laptops that need more space.


Price wise... figure about $30-60 more for an external vs an internal of the same capacity.
