I've been on a blues and jazz trip for a while. Here are some albums I'd consider essential for a long drive.

Maceo Parker - Southern Exposure.
Bčbo Valdes - Recuerdos de Habana, El Arte del Sabor
The Marsalis Family - A Jazz Celebration
Nearly any work by Quincy Jones....

That's a start.

Iced Earth's new album has a song that is 45 minutes long. And like Zack aka clickwir said, pretty much anything by Dream Theater.

Dear Smurf,

I will second the nomination for Led Zepplin. To add to that nomination I will put a collection of Fatboy Slim, Marilyn Manson, and Tool up for the offering.

I find a variety of styles to be the best way to keep the mond active on long drives.

Yours truly

Coolness.
It may take a bit of work to "find" their albums, but it's certainly worth the effort.
 Enjoy the drive.
