E34 5 Series

Ok, so I drove an E34 540i, and I liked it.

I also watch Ronin yesterday, and thats made me want one even more. Searching on trader, it turns out theyre within my price range.

What do you guys think? Any problems with them that anyones had?

I remember something about Nikasil cylinder bores deteriorating and leading to catastrophic engine failure.

it was the worse in CA. I'm not sure if canadian cars were affected. I don't know about the sulfer levels in their gas.

it affects all V8 engines from that era including the 3.0L V8

Generally a reliable car. Regular maintenance will be a little expensive though, particularly on the 8 cylinder motor.

I think Canada has some mandate about sulfur content in fuels.

Next question: Does anyone make an LSD for them. I check Quaife, and its only for the 528e. Also, any forced induction kits, just out of curiosity.
