i had just purchased a 9lb. flywheel for my vehicle and when i told my brother that he freaked out saying that i would lose torque. is that true if so how possible?. all i know is the lighter the flywheel the quicker the revs

Quicker the revs also means quicker the loss of revs too. Maybe that's what he heard once and misinterpreted into his own incorrect theory. :dunno:

It'll just be harder to launch because the flywheel won't have as much momentum. This gives the feeling of less torque. It's nothing that is too difficult to overcome.
