I upgraded to the latest version of AIM but I can't find the setting that toggles the AIM today window on and off. Please help me, the AIM today window keeps popping up when I sign on. I can't find it in preferences. Thanks.

 

i havent been able to get rid of it either. you might need a hack program like deadaim or myshaim or something.

In AIM v5.5 you need to use RegEdit to navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\America Online\AOL Instant Messenger (TM)\CurrentVersion\Users\SCREEN-NAME\Misc and modify 'ShowAimTodayWindow' to 'DWORD:00000000'.

edit: replace SCREEN-NAME with your sn.

 

Damn, my Registry says ShowAimTodayWindow is already set at 0. :thinking:

for some reason i can never get deadaim to work for me. it will work the first time i run AIM after i install it, and then it will get all screwy after that. i'll click on 'My AIM' and it will bring down the menu but it will add another 'edit options, edit preferences, open buddy list, save buddy list etc' every time i click on it. i always end up getting pissed and uninstalling it.
